What you do Now can help create your Future.

Hiya!

Here is a concept I'll leave with you to ponder. "What you do NOW can help create your future." What do you think about this? 

Scenario #1 - You wake up in the morning feeling unmotivated, tired - dull. This thought pops into your mind. I want to do more in my life. I feel lost, what is my purpose? 

Now that you are out of bed the thoughts seem to fade a little. You are moving on with your day.

The kids are fed and off to school. Your spouse left for work a few hours ago and won't be back till late. The dishes are done, the house is clean, dinner is cooking, the pantry is stocked. 

You stand in the middle of the kitchen and look around. Now what? The thoughts and feelings return. I want to do more in my life. I feel lost, what is my purpose?

You sit down and begin to read a book. The story is inspiring but you decide to go do some laundry instead of finishing the book. The thought returns, I want to do more in my life. I feel lost, what is my purpose?

You flip on the TV and watch Oprah. You cry because you feel so inspired and moved by what Oprahs' guest has done with their life. The thought returns, I want to do more in my life. I feel lost, what is my purpose? 

Time to pick up the kids and run them to their music lessons and sports practice. Next is homework, dinner time, kids to bed. 

As you fall into bed you think about the day. Once again another day is over - gone.

The thought returns, I want to do more in my life. I feel lost, what is my purpose? You hope that sleep will erase the thought and you will have clarity in the morning. The morning comes and the cycle repeats. 

Scenario #2
You wake up and feel fearful and dread. This thought pops into your mind. I need more money, my finances are a mess.

Same kind of story as scenario #1. Perhaps you start your day either obsessing over your bank statement, or you pretend it doesn't exist and go shopping. Again, hoping that the next day will be different.

Scenario #3
You wake up and feel sad and worthless. This thought pops into your mind. I'm fat, I need to loose weight, my health is going down the tubes

Again, same same song second verse. Perhaps you eat a healthy meal for breakfast but when you get to work the donuts are calling your name. You eat a few and decide you may as well eat whatever the heck you want throughout the rest of the day since you "failed again." Once again hoping that the next day will be different.

Kind of a bleak picture I painted huh. Sorry about that, but it's real life. I know it because I've experienced it in my life and I have helped many clients with the same types of stories.

BUT THERE IS HOPE! YAY!  What if...

When you realize (yeeesss! you are paying attention, you are being mindful) you are repeating the same actions and thought patterns each day, you decide to do something different.

Next you make the decision to do this day, or this hour , or this moment differently. By the way, being aware (mindful) and making a decision are the first steps!

Wahoo, what you do differently this time will help create your future differently.
